The one hour initial consultation is an extremely thorough procedure and is designed to provide you with accurate and timely diagnoses of all your moles:

Creating a complete medical record of your skin surface by a Melanographer (nurse skilled in skin cancer and skin cancer imaging)

Digital Dermoscopic (subsurface) and Clinical Images of each mole that meets a specified criteria + any lesion of patient / doctor concern

All imaged lesions plus associated history is sent via secure network to be diagnosed by a New Zealand registered dermatologist (skin specialist with a minimum of 13 years training under their belt)

Comprehensive assessment report sent to you and your designated GP or specialist

Patient education on sun protection and self examination, including a self-monitor kit, and a CD copy of your images (upon request)

Secure storage of your records and free file transfer to any MoleMap clinic across the country

FREE follow-up dermatologist assessment of up to 3 lesions within 12 months of the initial visit. Ideal for those who have renewed concerns about a lesion or notice any recent changes - because MoleMap takes your concerns seriously.
Note: No melanoma surveillance programme can claim to be 100% accurate and as such MoleMap is not a complete substitute for a clinical examination. It is therefore important to continue seeing your doctor or specialist for regular skin checks especially if you are at high risk of developing melanoma.
