But who’s the best person to see for a skin check? For most people, their local GP is the go-to for any immediate health matters. Some GPs specialize in skin health and can perform a skin examination. If melanoma is suspected, it’s likely you will be referred to a dermatologist or skin cancer clinic to confirm the diagnosis.
